Copper Maintenance

Copper Splashes and Counters come with or without a Patinated Finish.

Patinated Copper may be maintained by occasionally waxing using Butcher's wax.

Clean your top by pre-moistening any dried food and then wiping with a damp sponge.

Soap and water, or Windex  work well.

Avoid acids like lemon juice and use no copper cleaners unless you want to remove everything down to matte finished raw copper.

Raw unpatinated Copper may be treated the same way. It can also be scrubbed with a Scotchbrite pad to blend any minor scratches.

All Copper products may be re-polished for a bright appearance. Re-sanding on site to remove signs of wear and scratches is also a fairly simple process.

The long term look is distinctly " Country" in nature as these Counters and Sinks will acquire a Living Finish that changes with time.

A recent British study found that Copper and Brass were Bactericidal when used as food prep surfaces .
